Texas Man Sentenced to 40 Years in Home Invasion Murder

A Texas man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a robbery that turned deadly during a home invasion in Bexar County, closing a chapter in a case that began nearly four years ago. A judge imposed the sentence on Seth Little after a jury found him guilty in the killing of Corwin Davis.

The sentencing took place this week in a Bexar County courtroom. Prosecutors said the punishment reflects the severity of a crime that left a man dead inside his own home.

Little was convicted of murder stemming from a May 2022 break-in that authorities say was intended as a robbery but escalated into fatal violence.

The 2022 Break-In That Turned Fatal

According to prosecutors, the case dates back to May 2022, when Little and an accomplice forced their way into Davis’ home in southeast Bexar County. Authorities said the pair entered with the intent to rob Davis.

During the invasion, an encounter inside the home turned deadly. Davis was shot and later died from his injuries, investigators said.

Police identified Little as the gunman, while alleging that a second suspect participated in planning and carrying out the robbery. The violence, prosecutors said, was swift and irreversible.

Prosecutors Emphasize Accountability

At sentencing, Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales stressed the importance of accountability for violent crimes committed in private residences. He said home invasion robberies are particularly traumatic because they violate a person’s sense of safety where they should feel most secure.

Prosecutors argued that the 40-year sentence was necessary to reflect the loss of life and the lasting impact on Davis’ loved ones. They said Davis was killed during an act that never should have occurred.

Family members of the victim were present during court proceedings, according to local reporting. Officials noted the sentence cannot undo the harm caused but represents a measure of justice.

Defense and Verdict

Little’s defense acknowledged his role in the robbery but sought leniency during sentencing, pointing to his age and personal background. The judge, however, agreed with prosecutors that the nature of the crime warranted a lengthy prison term.

Jurors previously found Little guilty after hearing evidence that tied him directly to the shooting. The conviction cleared the way for sentencing under Texas law.

Little was remanded into custody following the hearing and will serve his sentence within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system.

Accomplice Case Still Pending

Prosecutors said Little did not act alone. His alleged accomplice, Malyk Jason, is facing his own sentencing related to Davis’ death and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2026.

Authorities have said the two men worked together during the robbery, making both legally responsible for the deadly outcome. Jason’s case remains active, and officials declined to comment on potential sentencing outcomes ahead of the hearing.

The pending case keeps the broader investigation open, even as Little begins serving his sentence.

The killing of Corwin Davis left a lasting mark on his family and community. Prosecutors described the case as a reminder of how quickly crimes driven by theft can escalate into irreversible violence.

With Little now sentenced, the court’s focus turns to the remaining defendant. For Davis’ family, the legal process continues, even as one measure of accountability has been delivered.
